(Louisville, Kentucky) One person has been arrested and other is still at large following the killings of two elderly gay men in the separate homes in Louisville.
Jennifer Lynn Smith is charged with two counts of murder. Police say she had admitted to being with Dale Moneypenny when he murdered Charles Poynter early Friday morning and that she gave Moneypenny a lighter to set a fire in an attempt to cover up the killing.
During questioning Smith allegedly told police that a second man also had been murdered. When officers went to the address she provided police found the body of 73-year-old Blaine Thacker Junior.
Investigators said that Smith told them following the murder of Poynter she and Moneypenny went to Thacker's apartment and convinced him to allow them to stay the night.
How all four knew one another has not been revealed, nor has a motive been established.
Police said that while Thacker slept Moneypenny stabbed him to death.
Smith was arraigned Monday on two counts of murder, one count of arson and tampering with evidence. Moneypenny who is still at large is considered armed and dangerous.
